Client Session Workflow



Initial Client Booking
  1. Contact with Client
  2. Initial Contact: Reach out via phone or email.
  3. Booking: Use call scripts to discuss booking and session fees.
  4. Confirmation: Send a portrait contract agreement and session details via email.


PRE-SESSION PREPARATION
  1. Day Before the Session
  2. Ensure your vehicle is ready: fill up gas, clean the car, and have cash for tolls and parking.
  3. Charge all necessary electronics: cell phone, camera batteries, and speedlight batteries. This takes about 4 hours.
  4. Prepare your camera gear: clean equipment, format memory cards, and pack everything into your gear bag.


Session Day Activities
  1. Morning Confirmation: Call the client to confirm the session details.
  2. Final Preparations:
  3. Print out directions to the location, a checklist for portable lighting gear, extra model release contracts, the portrait shot list, and bring a wireless Bluetooth speaker.
  4. Remind the client via email and text about the session time, location, and directions.
  5. Pack your gear and essentials (including water and snacks) into your vehicle.
  6. At the Session Location:
  7. Arrive and prepare: unpack and assemble gear, and scout the location.
  8. Camera Settings: Adjust camera settings based on lighting conditions:
  9. Off Camera Lighting: ISO settings range from 100 to 1600, with a shutter speed of 1/100 and aperture f/5.0.
  10. Natural Lighting: Adjust ISO settings from 100 to 800, with varying shutter speeds and an aperture of f/5.0.
  11. Set your flash settings appropriately.
  12. During the Session:
  13. Conduct a 2-hour photo session, engage with the client, and then pack your gear to return home.
  14. Transfer images from the memory card to a client-specific folder on your computer.
  15. Reorganize your gear and inform the client about the session's success.


Post-Session Workflow
  1. Image Importing:
  2. Import images to Lightroom with presets.
  3. Use catalog settings for optimal preview quality.
  4. Image Processing:
  5. Spend about 120 minutes processing images in Lightroom.
  6. Adjust exposure, white balance, shadows, blacks, highlights, and whites. Use cropping tools as needed.
  7. Aim for efficiency in your editing process.
  8. Sales and Delivery:
  9. Conduct an image preview and sales consultation.
  10. Place the client's order with the lab, inspect the order upon arrival, and package it.
  11. Arrange a meeting with the client for order pickup.
