Preparing for Your Photography Session


Arrive Early

Punctuality is crucial. Arriving on time ensures you get the most out of your session. If you need to prepare (hair, makeup, etc.), please arrive early so you’re ready by your start time.


Clothing Guidelines

Variety is Key: Bring a range of colors and styles. Avoid bringing multiple outfits in the same color. Mix it up with casual, medium, and dressy outfits.


Plan for Outdoor Sessions:

Changing facilities may be limited. Be prepared to change in your vehicle if needed.

  • Accessorize: Feel free to bring accessories like jackets, hats, scarves, jewelry, and more. The more variety you bring, the more options we have for creative looks.
  • Coordinate Your Outfits: Light clothes work best with lighter backgrounds and dark clothes with darker ones. Plan full outfits, including shoes, to match the setting.
  • Wrinkle-Free: Ensure your outfits are ironed and neatly hung on hangers. We will not have an iron for touch-ups.

Hair & Makeup

  • Keep It Natural: Avoid drastic hairstyle changes just before your session. Bring any hair care tools you might need.
  • Makeup Tips: A little extra makeup enhances photos, but avoid going too heavy. Bring a light lip gloss for a touch of shine.
  • Nail Care: Pay attention to your nails. Chipped polish will show, especially in close-up shots. Stick to neutral or classic colors.

Jewelry & Accessories

  • Keep It Simple: Jewelry should complement, not overshadow. Organize different pieces in bags attached to your outfits to save time.

Props & Personal Items

  • Bring What Represents You: Whether it’s sports gear, musical instruments, or hobbies, bring items that showcase your personality.
  • Pets Welcome: Pets are welcome, but make arrangements for their care during the session. If you have a horse or other large animal, let us know in advance to plan accordingly.

Special Considerations

  • Glasses: If you wear glasses, check with your optometrist about borrowing empty frames to avoid glare.
  • Sunburn & Tanning: Avoid sunburn before your session. If you choose to tan, do so carefully to avoid harsh lines or an unnatural look.
  • Complexion: Makeup can help with blemishes, but we also offer retouching services if needed.

Weather & Rescheduling

  • Weather-Dependent: Outdoor sessions depend on the weather. We will reschedule in case of rain but can work with overcast skies.

Tattoos, Scars, & Braces

  • Your Choice: Let us know if you want tattoos visible or retouched. We can also edit scars and braces for an additional fee.

Tips for Girls

  • Flattering Styles: Choose clothing that enhances your figure. Be mindful of undergarments and ensure they match your outfits to avoid unwanted lines.
  • Footwear: Don’t forget about your toes! Barefoot shots are common, so make sure your pedicure is fresh and neutral.

Tips for Guys

  • Clothing: Bring a dark T-shirt for dark outfits and a white one for light outfits. Avoid bold logos or brand names.
  • Shaving: Clean-shaven looks best. If you want both casual and formal shots, consider shaving midway through your session.
  • Hair: Stick to natural or subtly styled hair for a timeless look. Avoid drastic changes just before your session.
